The future of work. What’s next?

As technology continues to advance at a rapid pace, the way we work is also evolving. From remote work to automation, the traditional 9-5 office job is being redefined. It's increasingly apparent that the future of work will be characterized by flexibility, adaptability, and a greater integration of technology into everyday tasks.

We are creating a SparkMap titled "The Future of Work – What’s Next?" which delves into the evolving landscape of work. It aims to interconnect various perspectives on the subject, including ongoing changes and their impacts. We'll explore current shifts, cite global examples, highlight innovative practices, and discuss potential improvements. Additionally, we'll examine how people worldwide are experiencing concepts such as the gig economy and zero-hour contracts.

Nicky Dries, leading the build, heads the Future of Work Lab at KU Leuven's Faculty of Economics. This lab delves into social imaginaries for the future, shaping innovative insights and strategies for tomorrow's workforce.
