Humanathon is a human, world, change-aware ‘marathon’ - a thematic movement - for sensemaking and building shared understanding.

As birth rates fall and aging populations rise, societies worldwide face unique challenges and opportunities. Delve into multidisciplinary perspectives on the economic impacts, social dynamics, and innovative solutions to adapt and thrive in this changing demographic landscape. Discover how collective sensemaking and forward-thinking strategies can shape a resilient and sustainable future.

The theme:

Our first Humanathon on population decline brought together 20 thinkers, researchers, development professionals, futurists, students, and concerned citizens.

As birth rates fall and aging populations rise, the world faces unique challenges and opportunities. Your unique perspective is the missing piece we need to tackle this global issue.

While population decline can result from various social, economic, and environmental factors, its implications are far-reaching and multifaceted. Economically, declining populations may lead to labor shortages, reduced consumer demand, and strains on pension systems. Socially, declining populations can impact family structures, healthcare systems, and cultural dynamics, particularly in aging societies. Environmentally, population decline may alleviate pressures on natural resources and urban infrastructure, but it can also pose challenges for sustainable development and biodiversity conservation. Addressing population decline requires comprehensive strategies and innovative thinking.

Let's shape the future together—your voice matters in creating a sustainable and dynamic world.

Don't miss out on this exciting opportunity to make a difference and be part of the solution. Register now and bring your ideas to the table!

About Hunome
Hunome is uniquely designed to build shared understanding with collective sensemaking. The SparkMap is a non-linear, evolving, multi-dimensional, map of understanding on the theme. SparkMaps are a great way to visualize the understanding that a group of people have on a particular theme.

About Humanathon
Humanathon is a program that runs on the Hunome product. You can take leadership on a theme that needs multidimensional understanding and that you want to build for a concerted systematic attention with a group. The Hunome product is there to use and our team helps the leads set this up with materials.

You do not need to run a Humanathon to build multidimensional understanding on Hunome. You can also just start by clicking on ‘New SparkMap’ once inside Hunome and craft your own understanding and see others join.
